Sonic Frontiers PC Review

Most of you are probably aware of the Sonic cycle, right? If not a quick primer: Step 1. Sega shows tidbits of a new entry in the franchise, lack of new friends (or perhaps annoying ones) in promotional materials, people who are deluded get hopes up. Step 2. Revealed that annoying or stupid looking new friends are in fact in the game, gameplay looks garbage-tier, hopes dashed. Step 3. Game releases, it’s smashed by critics as junk. Tactics Ogre: Reborn Review: Timeless but Tedious

Have you ever adored a game but knew you couldn’t recommend it to most people? That is Tactics Ogre: Reborn. I’m brokenhearted because the game is near perfection from a narrative perspective. The story is timeless, the dialogue is sharp, and the voice work is excellent. However, the weighty tale is dragged to the depths by clunky controls, artificial difficulty, and incredibly tedious gameplay. Continue reading Tactics Ogre: Reborn Review: Timeless but Tedious

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered PC Review

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, another Playstation exclusive, has finally arrived on PC. When the game originally launched, it got a lot of positive reactions, so I was quite excited to get my hands on it. I also wanted to see whether its PC version would be polished or not. Sniper Elite 5 PC Review

I’ve always been a fan of the Sniper Elite franchise since the release of the original game in 2005. I played its second and third parts years ago, and its fourth part about two weeks prior to the release of SE5 (so that I could make an apt comparison between the two). And in a nutshell, and to no one’s surprise, it’s more Sniper Elite, but with a few tweaks and changes. Continue reading Sniper Elite 5 PC Review

God of War PC Review: First-Rate Fatherhood

God of War is a masterpiece that achieves near perfect synergy between narratively meaningful story segments, creatively brutal combat encounters, and immersive world exploration. It is a must-play, an essential game worthy of overwhelming praise. Before I gush some more, let me get personal with you. Continue reading God of War PC Review: First-Rate Fatherhood

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Review: A Charming Delight

Coming off the Marvel’s Avengers disaster, I expected Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy to be another big letdown. Instead, I was delighted by Guardian’s endearing cast, excellent storytelling, and ample charm. Quite simply, it’s a breezy good time that everyone is better off having experienced. Kena Bridge of Spirits PC Review

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is the first venture into video games by animation studio turned developer, Ember Lab. In the weeks prior to launch, there were some concerns. We didn’t get many gameplay trailers, and there was a review embargo until launch day. I saw these as worrying signs. However, after playing Kena, I’m happy to report that it’s been a great experience, even with some minor technical issues. Continue reading Kena Bridge of Spirits PC Review
